    Activity Instructions:

    Pass out echo microphones. Have children explore speaking in the top of them. Then ask for some of the classes favorite songs and sing them.
    Have the children echo solfege syllables, Do-Sol ascending and descending one syllable at a time.
    Teach the song by singing the syllables a little bit at a time and have children echo back. Then sing the song with regular lyrics.

    Activity Instructions:

    We are going to work on writing song lyrics for our composition activity again. Distribute Mad lib sheet and crayons to parent/child pairs. Have them fill in the blanks, then sing each child’s unique song. Make sure you have enough printables ready for this before class!

  • Musical Game: Crescendo Decrescendo Parachute Shake

    Activity Instructions:

    Get out small parachute, have children hold the edge. Raise parachute when the your singing gets louder, and lower when your singing gets softer. You can also bounce back and forth quickly between loud and soft. The movement helps the children hear and distinguish the concept of dynamics/crescendo/descrescendo.


  • Puppet: Mr. Alligator

    Activity Instructions:

    Share some alligator facts from the song with the kids. Then sing song, using puppet chomping his teeth to the beat.
    At the end, ask Mr. Alligator if he will be nice? Not eat the kids? Then give alligator kisses if desired.
