You can pretend to play trumpet, tuba, and piccolo, and conduct.  You may want to vary walking in a circle in A section with facing center and marching forward and back on B section.

    Pass out microphones to children. Ask for some of their favorite songs, and sing them together. Then sing through solfege syllables, allowing class to echo. Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, Fa, Mi, Re, Do. Then introduce song for the week.

    Pass out balls, allow children to explore rolling and tapping them.
    Model tapping with hands and feet, and holding ball in between knees to tap. Then introduce song.

    Dance to the Tempo

    Activity Instructions:

    Using either patterns on the keyboard, or a metronome app, have students dance to the tempo.
    Have fun dancing faster and slower to the beat of the metronome.

    Attach a flag to your favorite puppet before class, and sing song with puppet.

    Activity Instructions:

    Start rhythm on keyboard. Then sing song, putting each child’s name in the song. Adjust the ending based on the number of children you have – feel free to repeat or not, and add goodbyes to mommies, daddies, instruments, etc, if needed to finish the musical phrasing, depending upon the size of your class.
